Singer Jamie O'Neal has never been far from music - or from the spotlight. Born in Sydney, Australia to two musician parents, Jamie took the stage in Las Vegas as part of the family act at the age of 8! After touring with her family and performing across the country in her late teens Jamie ended up in Nashville singing songwriter 'demos'for publishing companies. Jamie then moved to Australia with her mom and secured a gig touring as a backup singer for fellow Aussie Kylie Minogue for two years. But when music producer Harold Shedd called to offer her a song-publishing contract in 1996, Jamie quickly headed for Nashville. The deal paid off with a contract from EMI Music to develop her as an artist and a songwriter. In 1998 Jamie signed a contract with Mercury Records, and at the end of October, 2000 she released her debut Platinum(R)-selling album, Shiver. The album's first two singles, "There Is No Arizona," and "When I Think About Angels," went to No. 1 on the country chart. She left Mercury Records in 2003 and took sometime to start a family. In 2004 she signed a deal with Capitol Records Nashville, and she's back stronger than ever.
