Bubba Sparxxx

Fact Sheet

Musical genre:Rap/Hip Hop
Bubba Sparxxx is an American rapper who gained mainstream attention after the 2001 hit "Ugly", as much for the rarity of a large white rapper as for the quality of the song.

He is from LaGrange, Georgia, and was introduced to hip hop by a neighbor (his closest at a half mile away) who received mixed tapes mailed from New York City. He began recording with Lil Devil in a group called One Card Shi in 1996, but the partnership did not last. A subsequent release saw some success in Georgia, and the album Dark Days, Bright Nights caught the attention of Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Records. He signed to Interscope after a bidding war and began working with Timbaland, as well as Organized Noize. The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard Music Charts. His most recent album released through a partnership of Timbaland's Beat Club label and Interscope, "Deliverance" is his most engaging project. Working with noted producers Timbaland and Organized Noize, this album takes a turn rare in hip hop blending elements of country and hip hop music with personal lyrics rooted in Southernness. The end result is a unique and noteworthy new expression of dirty south hip hop.
