Chingy (born March 9, 1980) is a rapper from St. Louis, Missouri. Chingy arguably came into the spotlight after his song Right Thurr, from his album, Jackpot, hit the airwaves. However, Chingy is not a one-hit wonder; subsequent to the success of Right Thurr, Holidae Inn (also on his Jackpot album) climbed the charts, followed by One Call Away.
Chingy, born Howard Bailey Jr., chose the Stage name Chingy, slang for "money" after deciding he wanted to avoid the stereotypical thug-style names.
