Joey Jordison (1975) is the drummer for Slipknot, a nine-man crossover band from his home town. He writes some of the lyrics for the band's songs and also writes the music including the song Scissors. He also came up with the term "maggot" to describe Slipknot fans. His Slipknot mask is a white japanese expressionless kabuki mask, painted with black detail and fake blood. He has long black hair with red-steaks. Jordison is a former member of Avanga and Modifidious (who he played with Craig from Slipknot), both of which he left for Slipknot. He was also in Anal Blast, a side project of Modifidious. In addition to drumming for Slipknot, he plays guitar for the Murderdolls with Wednesday 13, as a side project. Joey is 5'5" tall, and often wears a hoody with the sentence "Little People Kill People" on it.

Jordison has played drums for Metallica at the 2004 Download Festival at Donnington due to Lars Ulrich's injury. He is good friends with Marilyn Manson and was involved with remixing Manson's Fight Song. He also appeared in Manson's video for the song Tainted Love.

In addition to creating the tribal "S" logo that some of the band members have as a tattoo, he is known for his extremely fast double bass style of drumming and a solo that he performs whilst strapped into a rotating drum kit. He confesses that this is influenced by Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. Joey also designed the Slipknot logo, and it has been suggested that he used the large "K" and "T" as he was a huge KoRn fan at the time.
