Shane Filan
Shane Steven Filan is the lead singer of the Irish boy band
Westlife. He grew up in Sligo, a small town in Republic of Ireland. He was born July 5, 1979. He's got 2 brothers and 3 sisters. His parents own a diner in Sligo and Shane used to work there as a waiter from a very early age. He was a big fan of
Michael Jackson and even learned how to moonwalk. He went to a catholic school and participated in a school production of Grease when he was about 16-17. He loves horses and used to compete at horse tournaments. He is one of the 6 original Westlife members, along with Bryan Mcfadden and
Mark Feehily. But back then they were called I.O.U. He has also written a few songs, along with the other bandmembers:
- Bop Bop Baby,
- I Wanna Grow Old With You,
- Don't Say It's Too Late,
- Love Crime,
Shane married his childhood sweetheart Gillian Walsh on Sunday 28th December 2003 at Ballintubber Abbey.
