Weezer is an American rock and roll band. The specific genre of their music is debated, although it can be said that their style is related to Alternative rock and/or Emo. They formed on February 14, 1992. They have released four full length albums, an EP, a DVD, and their debut album was recently rereleased as a deluxe edition. An as-of-yet untitled fifth album is expected to be released in late 2004 or early 2005.
  • Weezer (AKA "The Blue Album") released: May 10, 1994. Includes "Buddy Holly" and "Undone (The Sweater Song)".
  • Pinkerton released: September 24, 1996.
  • Weezer (AKA "The Green Album") released: May 15, 2001.
  • Maladroit released: May 14, 2002.
  • The Lion and the Witch released: September 24, 2002. A live EP, recorded during the Maladroit tour.
The band currently consists of the following four members:
  • Rivers Cuomo, vocals, guitar
  • Brian Bell, backing vocals, guitar
  • Scott Shriner, backing vocals, bass (on Maladroit-present)
  • Patrick Wilson, drums

  • Jason Cropper, guitar (Feb. 1992 - Sept. 1993)
  • Matt Sharp, bass (on Weezer (1994) and Pinkerton)
  • Mikey Welsh, bass (on Weezer (2001))
Former member Matt Sharp played bass and sang backing vocals on Weezer/The Blue Album and Pinkerton. He has released two albums with his own band, The Rentals, a current solo EP, Puckett's versus The Country Boy, and a self-titled full-length album.
