Extreme was a heavy metal band, formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1996.

In 1988, the band signed to A&M Records and recorded the self-titled debut which was issued in 1989 and the next album Pornograffiti issued in 1990.

Finally in 1997, Gary Cherone joined with Van Halen for their album called Van Halen 3, issued in 1998, and he left Van Halen in 1999-2000.

Group members are: Patrick Badger, Nuno Bettencourt, Gary Cherone, Paul Geary and Michael Mangini.
