| Cole Porter was a brilliant composer of both words and music, his songs reflected his persona of the wealthy and sophisticated socialite that he was, unlike his contemporary's who were largely jewish immigrants who also contributed a legacy to the great American song book. Cole Porter's songs were romantic and sophisticated, and hit the mark of the American public at that time and have survived todate.
