DJ Danger Mouse (real name Brian Burton) came to prominence by remixing The Beatles' White Album and rapper Jay-Z's Black Album to make The Grey Album.

EMI, which releases Beatles records, has served cease and desist orders to the DJ, record shops stocking it and web sites (http://www.waxy.org/archive/2004/02/11/danger_m.shtml) who are offering downloads of it due to copyright infringement, which responded in an internet-wide protest called Grey Tuesday.

In the opinion of most professional hip-hop producers, the Grey Album's relative popularity can be attributed more to its inventiveness in source selection, and not necessarily the skill with which the two records were blended.
