Buddy Jewell

Fact Sheet

Musical genre:Christian
Buddy Jewell has emerged as America's sweetheart. This Arkansas native beat out more than 8,000 hopefuls in last year's USA Network talent competition, Nashville Star. A true everyday-Joe who has washed cars, bagged groceries and paid his dues in clubs throughout Texas, Buddy Jewell won over audiences with his humility, his strength and his knockout vocals. Along the path to stardom, Buddy achieved success as a demo singer, recording over 4000 tapes, toured with Alabama, Mark Chesnutt and Ricky Van Shelton, and lent his vocals to albums released by Bill Engvall and Ray Price. Since winning Nashville Star, Jewell performed at Fan Fair in Nashville and at the Grand Ole Opry where, to recent memory, he was the first artist to receive a standing ovation on his debut performance. His self-penned debut single, "Help Pour Out the Rain (Lacey's Song)," was a Top Five smash at country radio and helped to propel his album sales to Gold status. Embodying the American spirit, singer/songwriter Buddy Jewell has worked his way into the hearts of country music fans and finally found the success he's worked so long for.
