It's all in the family for the premier practitioners of bluegrass/gospel music,
The Isaacs. Lily Isaacs and her children, Ben, Sonya and Rebecca and Becky's husband, John Bowman, comprise the current lineup of a band that has been touring together for 30 years and whose music is a unique blend of bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk and southern gospel. The recipient of numerous awards for both their artistry and songwriting ability, they earned a Dove Award for Bluegrass Album of the Year for Bridges in 1997 and were nominated for a Grammy Award as well. Popular soloists on the Gaither Homecoming tour and videos, the various members of the Isaacs have worked with everyone from
Dolly Parton and
Alison Krauss and Union Station to
Vince Gill and
Brad Paisley, among others. The Isaacs have become favorites at bluegrass festivals nationwide and performed at Carnegie Hall recently with the Gaither Homecoming friends.
