Blu Cantrell
Blu Cantrell (born 1976) is an R&B singer who has enjoyed substantial pop crossover success. She released her first album
So Blu in 2001 when she was 25 years old - the extracted single "Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops)" peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and subsequently #12 in the UK. In 2003, her second album "
Bittersweet" spawned a surprise UK smash hit, "
Breathe", a collaboration with
Sean Paul. Despite never being playlisted by BBC Radio 1, the song unexpectedly entered the UK chart at #1 and stayed there for four weeks. It was also a major hit in many European countries, but never climbed out of the lower half of the US Hot 100.
