Justin Timberlake (born January 31, 1981) in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American singer who came to fame as front vocalist for the pop band N*Sync. His career started after a stint on the American television talent show Star Search when he became a cast member on the 1980s version of the Mickey Mouse Club variety show. Timberlake later gained attention for his relationship with Britney Spears. The two dated for five years. Britney Spears publicly declared her virginity early in her career, but after the couple split Justin revealed that this was no longer true. Britney has been quoted as saying, "I thought he was the one." Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's break up attracted a lot of attention for the two. The Justin Timberlake video "Cry Me a River" depicted Justin destroying a mansion and making a sex video with a dark haired woman, before a Britney look-alike returns to find the tape playing. Allegedly the pair broke up after Britney cheated on Justin with Wade Robson, a choreographer.

In 2002, Timberlake released his first solo album, Justified, to widespread critical acclaim and impressive sales. The album reached #2 on the US Billboard chart, and the album', as well as its single, won 2004 Grammy Awards.

In 2003 he performed with Christina Aguilera on the Stripped tour. During the same year, he also performed a duet with Kylie Minogue and gained notoriety for allegedly groping her behind.

During the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXVIII, Timberlake performed a song and dance routine with Janet Jackson to an audience of over 100 million people. During this live performance, he bared her breast in what he called a "wardrobe malfunction". CBS, the NFL, and MTV, which produced the halftime show, disclaimed all responsibility under a hailstorm of controversy. The FCC announced an investigation.

In 2004, Justin Timberlake started seeing Cameron Diaz. His also began filming for his motion picture debut in the thriller Edison.
