Chris Martin (b. March 2, 1977) is the lead singer of the group Coldplay.

He was born in East Sussex, England, and attended Sherborne public school. He married actress Gwyneth Paltrow on December 5, 2003. A daughter, Apple Blythe Alison Martin was born on 14th May 2004.

Martin has been particularly outspoken on issues of Fair Trade and Globalisation as well as a critic of President George W. Bush and the war in Iraq. He has done a great deal of campaigning for the charity Oxfam. When performing, he usually has the words 'make trade fair.com' written on his left hand.
