| It's strange that a person can affect one's life as Mick does mine. I am a black South African who listens to all genres of music, but amongst them all, Mick is unique, I really dig him, his cool. Silly comments about him makes me sad. Comment on this... |

I have just discovered Mick Hucknall. He had a small part in the Cole Porter bio "Delovely", playing a singer, obviously pattered on Nelson Eddy (the mountie uniform). Hmm, they got the red hair right, I thought, but little else. But then I checked Mick out on IMDb, became very interested. As a result, I now have several DVDs and CDs. What musical diversity! Ballads, soul, blues. In that respect, he even reminds me of Nelson Eddy --Nelson was first an opera singer, but he did folk, spirituals, pop, AND he had red curly hair, which was constantly cut and slicked down--no long hair or dreadlocks allowed for a 1930s opera and film star, but if he lived today, he would look like Mick Hucknall; juat a few inches taller Now I have 2 great musicians in my life, and it's great that one of them is alive and well and making wonderful music!
