Republica

Fact Sheet

Country  England, UK
The British band Republica first became widely noticed in 1996 after releasing the single Ready To Go.

The Republica sound was described by Saffron as "techno-pop punk rock".

Saffron was born in Nigeria, and claims Portuguese, Chinese and English ancestry. Outside of the band, she was also featured as the back-up vocals on the song "Fuel My Fire" on The Prodigy's album The Fat of the Land.

As of 2003, they are not currently recording together, with Saffron now working on a new band called Swarm Swarm. Tim recently got back together with fellow former Flowered Up band member Liam Maher, but split up in late 2002. Johnny went off to a band called Cheap Glue - no word on what they're doing.
