Dave Stewart, (born David Allen Stewart) was born on September 9, 1952 in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear. He formed the band The Tourists with his lover Annie Lennox. When their relationship ended they went on to form the popular 1980s band Eurythmics.

Recently Stewart has written a musical, Barbarella, which is based on the 1968 movie and which premiered in Vienna, Austria on March 11, 2004.
