For a long time I thought that IABD had only released the one classic album (of the same name), so I was excited to find out that they had done some others, including this, and I downloaded it today - Wow - What A Disappointment.
For a start it sounds like its been recorded through a pillow, but in any case, it might as well have been recorded by a totally different band - a really awful band. If I heard this muzak in a hotel lobby I wouldn't be at all surprised. How could such a landmark recording be followed by this? Maybe there was a mistake and I got 'elevator muzak for OTIS'? Pity you can't give minus stars. Loaded into iTunes and will be removed as soon as I have finished this review. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ! November 28, 2008

This album is far superior to the first, this album found the cosmic note, it's a mix of all instruments, and capable of elevating any one to a note of happiness, meaning this was not a be bop like the first, it was the groups last album before other religion convinced them of their errorous ways...sad.

I have to say not many people would have heard of this group, if not for the first album song "White Bird". again sad, this group was much like the Sons Of Champlin, did not tour like the Dead, Airplane, etc, thus missed their true potential, no great in their failing, they stand out like the Sons, as a true group about love and not money. could I offer more credentials of other groups that offer music/vocals and serenity..OK here they are: DEAD; American Beauty, Dave Mason; Alone Togeather, and as a way out there...Steve Miller Band; Children of the Future (never heard of it have you). this there 1st is not great, better than the later be bop.

I've made composite albums from the above as gifts, and they always ask who are these artists.

This LP by the underrated, unpredictable It's A Beautiful Day has been machine-gunned by many. But with the exception of a couple of dud cuts and some isolated soapy lyrics, it deserves better treatment.
If for no other reason, buy this album for "Let A Woman Flow." It's a Beautiful Song, for sure, and David LaFlamme's ear-pleasing signature violin work is marvelous music. No other piece, aside from "White Bird," exemplifies a group that flamed out far too soon in my opinion.

Don and Dewey is fantastic bounce-in-your-seat fiddle music. Everything else is mediocre to downright awful. Don't waste your money. June 1, 2008

If you enjoy listening to demo music from 1980's electronic keyboards mashed together with pathetic lounge and country western, this is the album for you. Baring absolutely no resemblance to their first (self-titled) album which was inspired, provocative, and original; this album barely qualifies as pleasant noise let alone music. Entirely, bland, monotonous, and at times agonizing to listen to, this album sets new records for most awful performance by anyone, anywhere. Even the production is miserable, with the vocals sounding as if they were recorded via a cassette recorder from the next room in whatever cheap motel they were performing at. If you are contemplating purchase, save yourself serious heartache, buy a blank tape, walk to the nearest elementary school, and record yourself a better album.
