as soon as the bass kicks in, and you hear the sample of michael jackson's falsetto, you are put into a trance that holds onto your ears until the very abrupt ending which is meant to send you back into reality. the musical landscape is multi-layered and it keeps building upon itself until the conclusion. posdnuos' and dove's lyrics are tight, as they tell of their past experiences in hip-hop, the changing environment of the genre, and where de la is headed. once you pry the headphones away from your ears, you understand the true meaning of this album, and the opening phrase of "we might blow up, but we won't go pop".
