| | ISRAEL VIBRATION...THE SECOND TIME AROUND | |
"UNCONQUERED PEOPLE" IS ISRAEL VIBRATION'S SECOND ALBUM. MANY PEOPLE FEEL THAT THEIR STRONGEST WORK IS "THE SAME SONG," BUT I BEG TO DIFFER. EVEN THOUGH "THE SAME SONG" IS PERHAPS THEIR BEST KNOWN CLASSIC, DON'T IGNORE "UNCONQUERED PEOPLE." THIS ALBUM IS ALSO A CLASSIC. FROM START TO FINISH, THIS ALBUM WILL LEAVE YOUR EARS COMFORTED. BOB MARLEY WAS SAID TO BE PRESENT DURING THE SESSIONS OF THIS ALBUM, FOR THE ALBUM WAS RECORDED AT BOB MARLEY'S TUFF GONG STUDIOS. THE ABSOLUTE STAND OUTS ARE "MR. TAXMAN" WHICH IS SURE TO HAVE YOU DANCING, "SURVIVE" WITH THE JAZZY PIANO AND SAX DUO, "TOP CONTROL" WHICH IS ALSO SURE TO HAVE YOU DANCING, AND "WE A DE RASTA" WHICH REMINDS US ALL THAT WE ARE PROTECTED BY THE MASTER. IF YOU ARE JUST GETTING INTO ISRAEL VIBRATION, THIS WOULD BE A GREAT PLACE TO START. THIS IS ONE OF THEIR ABSOLUTE BEST ALBUMS!!
September 2, 2003 | | Hands down, the BEST Israel Vibration CD | |
Backed by the legendary Wailers band, Israel Vibration's second release boasts the best songwriting of the group's career. Furthermore, ALL the singers are in great voice here, particularly Skelly, which is a welcome surprise to those who are more familiar with his weaker singing on later releases. Add the rock solid musicianship of the Wailers band, and you get the best of all Isreal Vibration's albums. It eclipses even their critically acclaimed first album, "The Same Song", (which sounds much more raw by comparison.
If you are a fan of roots reggae music, you will not be disappointed by Unconquered People. It delivers. Big time. July 19, 2002

I've got all Israel Vibration records but I think that Unconquered People is by far the greatest one.no details and if you havent got this already what are you waiting for?Essential roots reggae music full of message and positive vibration.
May 7, 2002Dis is the most played CD in my CD collection (it is a very small collection, but powerful) I LOVE Israel Vibration, and dis is the best CD to me.
January 24, 2002Why only 2 reviews? This is hands down one of the most solid roots reggae albums ever. Roots I am really into are Black Uhuru and Burning Spear, but this album is at least on par with the greatest of those artists. Really tight, really skanky roots reggae...Lots of great horns and beats. If you are looking for tight roots past Bob and Burning Spear, you must hear this album...Israel Vibration packs the most music and energy possible into each of these tracks...
