I don't usually write reviews for CDs that are already out-of-print, but I'm going to make an exception to inform jazz customers of an amazing deal that is currently happening via one of Amazon's Marketplace vendors. The Fantasy label has unfortunately decided to remainder a large number of their Original Jazz Classics CDs, but thankfully Newbury Comics (based in the Boston area) has purchased an enormous selection of these titles, and is offering them at closeout prices. Some of these discs, like "That's Right" by Nat Adderley and the Big Sax Section, are absolutely terrific! The best part of this solid 1960 session is the number of big name jazz stars that participate -- brother Cannonball, Yusef Lateef, Jimmy Heath, Charlie Rouse, Tate Houston, Wynton Kelly, Jim Hall, Les Spann, Sam Jones and Jimmy Cobb! Jazz devotees do yourself a favor, if you live in New England, go to a Newbury store and cash in on a once in a lifetime deal. If you live elsewhere, you can always have them shipped -- it'll be worth it.
