"I know it feels good to be right
and if it helps you sleep at night
I'll tell you what you want to hear
and act like I care". March 18, 2008

Starts off strong but ends pretty weak. Heavy, crunchy guitars and catchy riffs in the beginning but then the music starts to get mundane. By about song number 5 I'm looking for a new cd. March 12, 2008

I am listening to this album now. I have owned it since it came out and always thought that it was panned by idiots. The 'swing' feeling in the syncopation of Helmet compositions was best employed on this album. 'Meantime' was great, but a few songs went on too long (e.g., "turned out"). The lyrics of this album, not always Page's strongpoint, were the best ever composed in all albums to date, especially the before its time "Driving Nowhere", which I am suprised hasn't been used and written about and reevaluated given the political incarnations the West has encountered with the Middle East and the peak oil issues (not to mention it has the most balls out guitar solo of any rock song in the last 25 years). I personally thought this was their best CD. Dark, and rugged. Thick production with vocals a bit in the background. Better than the 2 cds since reforming as well. September 24, 2006

If you are a heavy metal fan, or even a music fan with the desire to create new synapses with a truly great disc in the genre, then stop reading right now and get this disc, but don't give up after a couple of listens because you will not have the new synapses yet.

This is the best Helmet disc hands down. What is a shame is that many have not heard this undiscovered gem. Many Helmet fans had already moved on to other bands by the time this one came out. And others have dismissed it right off because of a change in the vocal styling that they were previously used to. Big mistake! This is a truly great "HEAVY" metal disc that should be in everybody's collection. September 21, 2006
