Umm... Wasn't 'The Firm' the near super group of Jimmy Page (Led Zep), Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad. Co.), Tony Franklin and Chris Slade. See Wiki... November 14, 2008

great production, nice rhymes, good theme. this is a great collaboration of talented MC's and for some reason this album was slept on. i am a huge nas fan so it is no surprise that i like this cd, but true hip-hop lovers should get this. September 24, 2008

In Dre's own words (from Forgot About Dre):

"Ya'll better listen up closely,
All you n****s that said I turned pop,
On the the Firm flop,
Ya'll are the reason Dre ain't been getting no sleep..."

Maybe Dre is being hard on himself, but I kinda agree with his assessment. So I can remember buying this album the day it came out and being hyped up that Nas, AZ and Dre were gonna be on the same album (not so excited for Foxy Brown and Nature). Threw it in the CD player and listened to the entire album waiting for some of Queensbridge and Compton's finest. To my dismay, not really up to par in my eyes. As I am a huge Nas fan, respected AZ and of course thought Dre could make any album go platinum, I was dissapointed.

As many songs on this album are passable, not the Classic I was expecting. I like some of the beats, some of the verses with the headliners and some of the guest stars, but overall, take it or leave it, won't leave you enlightened and you'll just want to punch Foxy in the face. July 16, 2008

The Firm isn't an album I listen to all the time, but I do like the album. I like the whole "mafioso" image surrounding the album, it's very entertaining. It's not Reasonable Doubt or Illmatic, but it's fun and relaxing at points. I don't expect alot of realism from rappers, just talent, and this album had good lyrics and nice atmospheric music... it's literally like listening to a soundtrack. I wouldn't say it's the greatest crew album out there, but honestly, if you've heard what's been coming out of mainstream rap lately, you'd probably think this album deserves an Grammy.
