Average user review:i cant believe people would give THIS album a 1
this is the epic NIN album, majority of NIN fans find this as their favorite
so many great songs on it, my favorite include: heresy, piggy, ruiner, reptile, closer...you know what, screw it, they are all great
Broken + The Downward Spiral, if there are new fans looking for their best stuff get these albums. im seeing NIN in august and i cant wait
trent is a genius to come up with every sound you hear on these albums, and all the lyrics and emotion he puts into it, that you can actually feel it
and hes making new stuff everyday, love him! May 13, 2008
Awesome!
This CD belongs in the top 10 of best industrial albums of all time! Superior movements, mystical and enraged lyrics. If you don't have this, you're missing a lot! (plenty of re-mix albums available, too) May 12, 2008
Trent Reznor at his best
Possibly the most influental album off the 21st century, its nearly impossible to not hear the influence off NIN in music, TV, Movies now, and most people probably don't even know it. This album is probably the biggest reason why there is so much industrial influence in all music today. May 2, 2008
BEST Industrial cd ever made
This is not only the best cd industrially but the best period I just cant stop listening to it. Pretty Hate Machine was awesome, The Downward Spiral was better. Then it just went downhill from their with NIN. The Fragile is something you listen to when your in a very weird classical mood and most of the songs on there were not Industrial. Buy this cd and Pretty Hate Machine. April 29, 2008
A masterpiece that takes more than 1 listen to understand.
When I first bought this cd in the fall of 1995 I only liked the couple of singles off of it. "closer" is truly a work of art and it is no surprise that it is NIN's most known song. Over time though I started listening to the rest of the cd more and more and realized everything is arranged the way it is for a reason. Each track builds not only its own mood, but sets up the next songs. So my advice for a person buying this record is too really take some time to let the album sink in and understand it. It's not as bland and pussy sounding as the new bands out there today like Linkin Park and Seether.
My favorite songs are "piggy" "closer" "ruiner" "I do not want this" and "hurt." March 20, 2008
