No, I don't have the album, I just listened to the samples here. But that was enough for me. As a person, who is familiar with the artist, I can say that this must be one heck of an album!

The album starts off with "Baboon Gang" bird calls, cymbals scatter, animals shriek and howl. A very deep bass (Stanley Clarke) lays out the pulse, piano notes
chirp in and out and the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestral fires up high waves off the string instruments, giving the listerner that something ominous may be lurking from beyond. An excellent prelude to the upcoming morsels that Copeland dishes out.
Sprinkles of exotic sounds weave themselves through the modern sounding Symphony, Copeland lays low when needed and rises when necessary.
Without seeing the film that this soundtrack came from, I can only imagine.
I look forward to the movie.

This is my favorite of Stewart's 90's-era soundtracks. Perhaps inspired by the unique subject matter, this is a very inventine mix of familiar "Copelandisms", at times very playful and at other times quite intense. I listen to this one a lot and some of the tracks never fail to get me bouncing along to the beat.
June 14, 2003Whilst it generally lacks the grunt and bite of the Rythmitist album, I found this a very pleasant album. Nice background music. I have not seen the film which might take a bit away from it for me. Not for everyone but Copeland fans like myself should like it.
March 1, 1999If you like Copeland's raw drumwork, you'll like this one. It's nice to hear him get away from the electronic stuff so prevalent in most of his movie and TV soundtracks. This one reminds me a lot of his first movie soundtrack - Rumblefish. It's nice hearing Stewart and Stanley Clarke together again since their days with Animal Logic. My advice - buy this one and buy the video too.
