Two years since his last album, the Funk Doc returns with his 3rd, and arguably his best album, in my opinion it is. I've been a fan of Redman since EPMD's 1992 track "Head Banger", but never really listened to him until this album. The lyrics are on point and the production is on point, even the guests fit in well through the album. With 17 songs on here, you get no bad tracks, really none of them are even ok, they're all good, great, or classic material. Guests are on just 5 songs, and as I said earlier, all hold their own rather well and fit the bill. Production is very good and handle dby Erick Sermon (8 songs), Redman (5 songs), Rockwilder (2 songs), and Ty Fyfee & Pras each do 1 song. A must have album from one hip-hop's better acts.

#2 - 8.5

This album is a symbolic metaphor of the muddy amniotic liquid of that kind of mother, that unconsciously wants to destroy the foetus.
Sometimes the liquid gets muddy and there is fetal suffering and the foetus (the unborn child )has to decide to try hard to survive in that muddy liquid, between the life and the death. If the unborn child refuses to yield ( it's a free individualo choice ), he will born without physical injury !
This is the third release of this rapper of the New Jersey, Redman a.k.a. Reggie Noble, a.k.a. Funk Doctor and it's not a case that he is a Funk doctor, because the foetus, in that situation, has to be doctorof himself.
So Redman, in this album, representes all the unborn children that have decided to resist the bad maternal attacks.
Fot these reasons, this album is highly recommended by me, and it is just for winning persons.
Here you are guaranteed and protected by the mortal masochism of those rappers that want and like to die or to hurt themselve

BEATS : 10/10
LYRICS: 10/10
My favorite tracks and the best tracks : # 2,3 6,11,23 (with Jamal a.k.a. Mally G of the Illegal).

P.S.:
Please check up my rap listmania, just clicking on my nickname and clicking above my listmania. Here there are 40 Hip-Hop albums choosed by me just for winning people and not for fans of the mortal masochism rap !!!
I assure that in my rap albums'list you will find the best American Hip-Hop albums. There are dance beats and strong ones and lyrics just for the winning person in the life !!!

Redman's third album "Muddy Waters dropped back in late '96, making it his last consistant album. Although everything that he dropped later on was still dope, but this was his last most consistant. On this album, I found many bangers on here that I really enjoyed. What I like about his lyrics is that they are humorous and funny to listen to, and I think that is what made him accepted by everyone.

As I mentioned, there are a lot of bangers on here. "Pick It Up" was the first that stood out to me. Redman's rhymes have much substance for most part. "Smoke Buddah" is a funny track that is fun to listen to (even the edits sound funny). "Rollin'" and the series "Supaman Lover 3" really shows off Funk Doc's best skills.

Guest apperances are excellent as well. Partner in rhyme Method Man would appear on the song "Do What You Feel". Old schooler K-Solo hops on the track "It's Like That (My Big Brother)". Then there is the Def Squad crew on the closing track "The Ill Out".

As for anything bad, there are a few. Some of the skits are not appealing, but some are. And I find "Case Closed" with Crossbreed pretty skippable. Other than that, this album is one album that should be added to your collection. Redman, doesn't make bad albums, and this proves that he is a real consistant emcee. If you are new to Redman, you should also listen to "What? Thee Album" as well as "Dare Iz A Darkside".
