Good CD Jacket.
I have said not only music but the photograph of the jacket very much to mind. Doris is youthfully beautiful and has an attractive expression.
And "greatest Hits" is truly right. November 21, 2007

Make My Day...Every Day
This CD is first-rate in every way. Great sound; and an artist like no other.
Doris sings her heart out every time she begins a tune--right through the very last note. I can listen to this album--and her--all day.
Pick this one up. Before one "day" they're all gone.
(I'm out of Day analogies; but I'll never run out of admiration for Doris Kappelhoff of Cincinnati, Ohio.) July 2, 2007
A golden nugget shining brightly !!!
The CD opens with one of Doris' bigger hits entitled "Everybody Loves A Lover." The melody is infectiously catchy and Doris sings this upbeat tune with style and all the high octane energy in the world! The musical arrangement makes good use of the horns; and the male chorus enhances the beauty of this number. The next track, "It's Magic," opens with a great musical flourish and Doris performs this with great sensitivity.
Unfortunately, the next track disappoints me. "A Guy Is A Guy" has a good tempo and Doris sings it well. Somehow it seems relatively shallow, however, and the lyrics are dated. They should have bumped this song for another one. Oh, well.
The track set improves greatly with the next tune entitled "Secret Love." Doris delivers this perfectly without a superfluous note. The harp is great and the overall effect stuns you with its beauty. Great!
Other gems on this CD include the famous "Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera)" which Doris loved to sing; on this CD she delivers "Que Sera, Sera" with panache and just the right amount of emotion. Perfect! I like the chorus on this number, too. In addition, "When I Fall In Love" gives Doris the perfect opportunity to sing of how she imagines the perfect love for her ideal man; this ballad touches me greatly. The musicians play much more softly on this number; and this accentuates Doris' strong voice and perfect diction.
"Lullaby of Broadway" gets the royal treatment from Doris as she performs this classic number from years before. The musical arrangement makes good use of the horns and piano.
The liner notes are rather lacking. You get the track list and the cover picture of Doris is great; but there's nothing else. The song credits are listed on the CD itself. Another disappointment, although this disappoint is a minor one; we buy our CDs for the music, after all.
Overall, I highly recommend this CD for fans of Doris day; and people who enjoy classic pop vocals will like this CD every bit as much as Doris' fans ever could. Four stars for two reasons: The short CD time (barely 33 minutes) should have been increased by adding a couple more songs; and the song "A Guy Is A Guy" that just didn't quite do it for me.
