If you enjoy the stylings of the Canadian Brass a la jazz then this is a C.D. I know you will enjoy in your collection.Basin Street Blues is a great tune in this set plus the stylings of Amazing Grace is also a first rate melody.George Segal adds a bit of his effort in this c.d however you can barely him at times due to the poor audio quality. Despite that flaw I am still giving this recording five stars! October 18, 2005

I enjoy many types of music, but one of my very favorites is traditional New Orleans-style jazz. I have long enjoyed the Canadian Brass, but somehow, never managed to get a copy of this CD until recently when the CB passed through my hometown on tour. I bought this disc after the show and it is fantastic. Although it's hardly King Oliver or Louis Armstrong, and at times lacks the loose swing of classic jazz, it's very enjoyable! As usual, the Canadian Brass play with tight ensemble sound. They're mellow on the slow tunes, and plenty "bright" on the up-tempo selections. The recording is full of energy, and I listen to it quite often. Another reviewer has commented about the recording engineering; personally, I love the way the disc sounds. It sounds as if it were recorded in a large hall, which gives it the feel of a live performance--without having to listen to the applause. Every time I hear the disc, I recall the performance I attended, and with comfortable headphones, I feel as if I'm back in the auditorium. The stereo separation is good, and the recording has real depth. If you enjoy the Canadian Brass, or just like classic jazz, you're sure to enjoy this disc. December 16, 2002

I would certainly rate this CD at 5 stars but for the sound engineering. These musicians are of the greatest caliber playing with utmost brightness and feeling for some great music. However, George Segal's vocalizing and playing are at times almost inaudible and that's unfortunate since he is also an artist in his own right. I'm in hopes that Canadian Brass will try again, under more suitable circumstances. March 9, 2002
