Sixteen (16) Most Requested Songs offers a very nice assortment of songs by a fine singer, Doris Day. Doris sounds great on this album; the sound quality is really very good. In addition, I like the artwork.

"Sentimental Journey" starts the track set with hardly any surface noise from this 78 version; the musical arrangement is terrific! "It's Magic" features Doris front and center and the strings sound so sweet in combination with Doris' voice. I really like "It's Magic" and I think that you will, too--it was a huge hit for Doris Day. When you hear "It's Magic," there won't be any doubt as to why it was a hit for Doris! Listen also for "Again;" Doris never sounded better and she doesn't even sing a single superfluous note! Great!

"Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" shines like gold when Doris sings this so beautifully; the music complements Doris' vocals flawlessly and it makes the song very pretty. "Would I Love You, Love You, Love You" gets the royal treatment from Doris who performs this with panache and a lot of heart and soul. I love it!

"A Guy Is A Guy" may be a tad dated; but I enjoy it every time I hear Doris sing it. The backup vocalists bolster Doris' performance and it all holds its own very well. "When I Fall In Love" is truly very impressive; the number stuns me with its beauty and Doris aces this easily. "When I Fall In Love" is easily a highlight of this album.

"Secret Love" was another huge hit for Doris; and when you hear it you'll be charmed just as I am. This tune features Doris in the spotlight and the music sounds great as Doris sings this. There's also ""If I Give My Heart To You;" the backup singers sound great but make no mistake about it--this is Doris's number and she bats this one straight out of the ballpark!

"Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera)" is not just my favorite Doris Day hit--it's also one of my very favorite songs of all time. Doris truly owns this song and she sings it with all her heart and soul.

This CD is a great starter for people just becoming fans of Doris Day; diehard fans may already have these numbers in their collections. Casual fans will also like this CD; and people who enjoy classic pop vocals will not be disappointed.

This is an astonishingly good collection of songs by a massively underrated singer. Although Doris's voice is a little lighter, on some of the numbers, like Bewitched, Bothered, if you close your eyes, you would swear you are listening to Ella Fitzgerald.

Although I have thousands of hours of music on my mp3 player, as I travel a lot, and try not to overplay any particular selection, I find myself putting this one on again and again. Excellent! September 10, 2007

This collection has definite 1950's feel to it. This does not detract from Doris Day's great voice and impeccable delivery. There are better Doris Day albums out there, but this is an okay sampler of her range. She can out the fun in tunes like "Love Somebody" and all heart and emotion in other like "I'll never stop loving you". January 31, 2007

No, honestly what wouls it be like? I first started loving Doris when I saw her Calamity Jane quite a few years ago. I am now 14. And it is a good thing I found out about old movies, or else there would be nothing appropriate to watch! And this CD is a great christmas, bithday, or stocking stuffer gift even. These 16 most requested songs are all wonderful. Doesn't everyone just fall in love with her when she very first just opens her mouth?

Sentimental Journey? WONDERFUL! Honestly, Day could sing Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer, and it would be wonderful (though I really can't imagine it). Everybody loves a lover, Love Somebody, It's Magic, Again,...
All of these songs are hits in my own opinion. This is a great CD. And I reccomend it highly! A wonderful album to add to your collection!! December 15, 2004

My roomate from two years ago had a cd of Doris; and I must admit, at first, I was a little skeptical. But soon I became stunned by her vocal prowess and the emotional heart juice that she brought to these classic songs. Plus, you should see her in a football uniform! Man can she catch the pigskin.
