User Reviews
Average user review:| Probably the perfect album no-one heard |
This stands up to measurment alongside his best albums (Symphony Or Damn and Wildcard). This album encapsitates you from the start. From the roaring snarl of guitars from the opening title track, to the sweet ballard of the hit 'Holding On To You', to the chicken greased funk of 'Read My Lips (I Dig Your Scene),' to the latin-dance tinged 'We Don't Have That Much Time Together.' From the trip-hop soul bearer 'Surrender' to the reflective 'TTD's Recurring Dream', to the chilling closer 'It's Been Said'. But two of the most impressive tracks 'Supermodel Sandwich' in it's two incarnations, the first a rock/funk track and the second a chill out club funk song. Throughout this album, TTD is on fine form.
For any lover of music, I strongly recommend you buy this- the perfect album that no-one heard. February 24, 2006
| Winged and soaring to the celestial |
| Top Notch |
TTD's singing, as usual, is singular and outstanding.
This is the kind of album Lenny Kravitz WISHES he could make. August 18, 2004
| VIBRATE YOUR SOUL |
The title track, "Vibrator," really gets you soul vibrating right from the start. Kevin Wyatt's bass line is one of the funkiest I have ever heard and his bass playing is phenomenal throughout the album. The song has a spiritual theme and really connects the listener with TTD's message of positivity. "SuperModel Sandwich" is a funky rock number that really rocks as well with outstanding bass playing once again by Kevin Wyatt.
"Holding On To You" may be the best track on the cd. It's a rousing rock ballad that really showcases TTD's voice. "Undeniably" is a really nice ballad that takes on a really funky/jazzy vibe. "We Don't Have That Much Time Together" has a Latin Flavor to it and a really great melody.
"Supermodel Sandwich/w cheese" is a totally different take on "Supermodel Sandwich"....less of a rock vibe and more of a funky vibe...once again, Kevin Wyatt lays down an unbelievably funky bass line.
Honestly, this is my weak attempt to convey to YOU who is reading this review right now that this cd (along with the "WildCard" and "Symphony or Damn" albums) is absolutely fabulous. It is unbelievable to me how the public has completely slept on TTD's music and talent but I'm very glad that TTD's music has found its way into my life because it definitely "vibrates" with my musical tastes and spiritual inclinations.......To sum it up, this is some damn good music by a really talented musician. Buy it and spread the word. May 4, 2004
