rating: 5 Canada's best pop/rock export
I saw her Birmingham video on VH1 way back when and when I found the tape at a local store, only $4.99, brand new, I grabbed it up. I've been playing that baby for 12 yrs so I decided to upgrade to the CD. There is some real depth here, not just in the songs but overall. Her voice is wonderful. March 18, 2008

rating: 5 Amazing CD
I first heard Amanda Marshall when she opened up for John Mellencamp on one of his tours in the late 90's. I promptly went out and bought this CD. From "Wild Horses," to "Let it Rain," to "Birmingham" this CD is solid from the beginning to the end. Amanda has that great smoky soulfull voice that could work in several different genres along the lines of Toby Lightman.

I loved each one of her releases after this one, and wish she would have caught on more by now, but I hope she never stops releasing cd's. March 17, 2008

rating: 5 Beautiful Hello
I absolutely adore this CD. Amanda Marshall has the kind of voice that suits just about any musical genre. She has the throaty impact of a jazz singer, the great melodious sound of a rocker, and the delicate huskiness of a diva. Her songs are rich with feeling - "Beautiful Goodbye", "Fall From Grace", "Dark Horse" and "Let It Rain" have etched themselves permanently in my mind - so much so that I bought her Collections compliation. All moods seem to be captured - love, joy, longing, regret, sorrow, strength, determination, reverie. A great addition to any vocal music collection. February 20, 2007

rating: 5 Excellent Debut (Rock) Album
In the mid-Nineties Amanda Marshall opened for John Mellencamp at a show on the U of Minnesota-Saint Paul campus, where I first heard her voice. She was captivating. For each song she sang, she radiated great energy. I purchased the debut CD at the show; it has been one of my favorites. All the tracks are great; my favorites are 'Let It Rain', 'Fall From Grace', 'Dark Horse', and 'Beautiful Goodbye'. For rock music fans that like good lyrics, great music, and a powerful female lead voice, I highly recommend this CD. December 19, 2006

rating: 3 SLICK CHICK TUNES...
... with the obvious standout being "Sittin' On Top Of The World", an instant soft rock classic with a great toe-tappin' groove to it. The rest is ballad-heavy chick music. Add an extra half-star for being a fellow Canadian. August 22, 2006
