The old abandon hideout will have succumb to the ravages of time, but the dirty worn floorboards which needs sweeping and old stove that could use stoking will have absorbed and recorded alot of her warmth.

Burt Bacharach likes talking about how he had alot to do with inserting Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head into the bike scene.

I don't know if anyone has come forward to confess, but the song was nescessary for the audiance to catch their breath.

Etta has been grading school papers, she makes her way across the yard at sundown to her little room, Sundance is waiting for her and startles Etta.

Sundance instructs, "Teacher lady" to let down her hair and undo some buttons at gunpoint, only to find out she likes it as much as him and wonders why he can't get there earlier.

That's alot of information for a boy of ten, fall of '69.

My family was entertaining a Soccer family from out of town.

Dougie and I snuck off to watch the film by ourselves, I'm not sure what I would've done if I was sitting by my parents, shrunk into my seat, I suppose.

As the audiance lets out one big exhale, I can feel the sweeping shots of sun flicker on the audiance while Burt, Hal, B.J., Butch and Etta manage to steal our hearts.

Smiles mixed with laughter.

It was a big moment, it awoke something deep within me.

Love is messy... A little horsin' around is healthy!

Burt, Hal and B.J. continue to lend support.

I've noticed, nowdays, when I listen to the Soundtrack I start to cry.

The melodies and arrangement make me so proud and happy.

Like coming home to that Ol' Gang of mine.

THE MUSIC HOLDS UP...

I bought this soundtrack in LP/analog format when the movie premiered, and listening to it now on CD, I'm reminded why Burt Bacharach has been such a successful composer. The music is rich and fabulous. August 5, 2007

Nice Soundtrack

Much better than the average soundtrack from the period, many of the tracks are original from the movie (including 'Raindrops', 'South American Adventure' and 'New York'), some fillers are included but otherwise quite faithful to the original movie. February 16, 2007

Great Memories

I first saw the movie at a med-evac hospital overseas while caring for Vietnam-wounded Marines, and I fell in love with the soundtrack then and there. As soon as I was returned to the States (or as we used to call it "The World") I bought the album and played it until the grooves wore out. Then came the 8 track, the cassette, and now the CD. Time marches on.

Burt Bacharach is pure genius, and this soundtrack is one of his more stellar efforts. My personal favorites are "Not Goin' Home Anymore", a great tune, and "South American Getaway", an alternating happy-go-lucky and melancholy tune. Of course, three versions of "Raindrops" is a good thing to have anytime.

All in all, a great trip down memory lane and a great example of the genius that is Bacharach. May 3, 2006

My Favorite Album / CD

This is without a second thought my favorite CD. I had the album. (still around here somewhere) This is excellent music bumper to bumper. Not a bad note in the entire track. August 10, 2005
