This is the album that put Bryan Adams in the path of success.
This cd is full of hits, (six if I am not wrong) and give us a preview of the following album to come, the multi-hits bomb "Reckless". Many artist would be please to get six hits in their career, Bryan got it in a single album and he did it more than one time ! We are very proud of you Bryan ! December 26, 2007

"Cuts Like A Knife" album is an endearing listening experience, most notably it's title track. Flashback to MTV in the early 80's (you remember...when MTV actually played music videos) and MTV sweetheart Bryan Adams and his videos were the mainstay. Up until then I could take or leave Bryan's music, until that one fateful day, my girlfriend at the time calls me and says "I look just like the girl on the 'Cuts Like A knife' video. Look it's on now!" She felt that she looked like the girl on the diving board in the video, I begged to differ (and kept it to myself), but I digress. Yes, I'm sure MTV had a lot to do with the album's success, but the title track and other songs clearly show Bryan has found his groove in the annals of rock history.
"This Time" is a more subdued sing-a-long that has become a favorite on those Lite-FM stations, as well as "Straight From the Heart", which is the archetypal slow dancesong that was played last at your junior high prom. I'm not entirely a fanatic of the other tracks on the album, but they're certainly worth a listen to. And Marissa, wherever you are, yes, you really DID look like the girl on the diving board. Cuts Like a Knife was Bryan Adams last album before his masterpiece Reckless. Straight from the Heart, and Cuts like a Knife are the hits on this one. The remainder of the album isn't that great, but better than the first two albums he released. The highlights from this one can be found on his greatest hits album. September 6, 2004
