stone cold classic with class
Le meilleur de Julian....
Les mélodies sont belles, la musique est intéressante et la voix est bonne (plus douce et modulée que celle de son père !)
Valotte est vraiment jolie, OK for you aussi, Too Late for Goodbyes géniale et Let me be excellente. Dommage qu'il n'ait pas continué sur cette lancée.
L'album est produit par Phil Ramone..... February 8, 2008

You'll enjoy this one a whole "Valotte"
The minute the opening track "Valotte" had ended, it solidified the reason why we purchased the music. Being related to Mr. Lennon peaked our interest and rightly so but any debut that could open with a song with beauty and flow of the title cut stands on its own.
"On The Phone" has a vocal delivered as if Julian was a seasoned pro. The arrangement is superlative and the more we hear the album the deeper our enchantment grows.
"Too Late For Goodbyes" Shows a relaxed and confident performer that is doing well with the three-minute rock tune.
"Say Your Wrong" has the hook to suck you in for the ride and wanting more. The vocals and the music blend in unison.
Twenty-three years later the debut from Julian has stood up well. You can enjoy it for the first time or on a fresh CD copy.
The only negative that should be written about Julian's 1984 album "Valotte" that his dad wasn't with him the day it hit the record store shelves. All other swipes by the critics were created before one note was ever heard.
Let's look at some of the nonsense that the normal public and reviewer wouldn't even think about bringing to life. Julian is not in the same stratosphere as his dad so why bother. The reply of how many Beatles are there to go around needs not to be said. His lyrics are juvenile. Do you think for one second if his last name was Smith that ever would have been mentioned? Finally if he didn't have the name Lennon would session players Steve Holly, Michael Brecker, and or Carmon Rojas have given him the time of day? There isn't a definitive answer but should a person not use anything in their means to put out the finest work they can? Certainly, he had the talent in the studios but Julian wrote at least a part of nine of the ten tracks.
Enjoy the music and be well,
