Its a hilarious album by one of the worst rappers(next to Vanilla Ice) at that time. After being bashed by a lot of big names in hip hop, Mc Hammer strikes back with some of the lamest diss records you'll ever hear. I find it amusing that Hammer resorted to dissing rappers that were more superior to him with the exception of Mc Lurch of Turd Bass(how is the worst wegro rap group since Young Black Teenagers talking s***? These audacious wannabedowners are something else!). Even though I understood him responding back to them calling him a sellout(which he is), he should have just continued doing being a sellout instead of trying to be G. The only two decent tracks were Dont Stop and the reprise version of Pumps And A Bump(I love that sample of George Clinton's Atomic Dog). Weak diss records like Break Em Off Somethin Proper, Its All Good and The Funky Headhunter are comical at best. Sleepin On A Master Plan(feat the Dogg Pound) is the worst song on here. Next in line would be Dont Fight the Feelin(worst chick record ever), Clap Yo Hands(CORNY!), One Mo Time(more cornier than Clap Yo Hands), Somethin Bout The Goldie In Me(something bout the cheesy in him) etc. Hip Hop Laughables from Hammer: /You talkin that mess on your records/ but face to face your just a punk/ when I see you / Kriss Kross couldnt make you jump/ naw they dont want funk/(LOL!)

Bottom Line: This Mc Hammer's worst album but its the best comedy album of the year. Hammer wastes too much time dissing rappers who werent even worth his time. Im glad he went christian and never came back. I dont think the world can take anymore corniness from him.

Pumps and a Bump is the tightest song i've ever heard. That song is total gangsta. If this album didn't have this song and One Mo' Time, this album would be a 1 star album. With those two songs I think it deserves 5 Stars.
December 11, 2005I dont care about going bankrupt or him going from Pop to being Hardcore the beats on this album is pretty good and its a little funny that Hammer is dissin Run DMC(who did the same thing Pop to trying to be hardcore) and Redman and Q-tip(I wonder how did he get the rights to that did u say hammer proper) but anyway, Hey what can I say its alright to me.
November 4, 2005Y'all know y'all was dancin to his songs when it was out stop frontin lol. Wooo but Hammer was a mess. I loved his videos, you just knew when a Hammer video came on it was gonna be crunk. Hammer could jam, me and my friends use to steal some of his moves all the time. Even though Hammer was kinda corny I still miss him and his energy. He just brought the fun into Hip-Hop like they did back in the 80's he made everyone get up and dance and have a good time. He is one of the coolest rappers that ever done it and that's real. His live performances were all that, he stole the show. I remember seeing him back in the early 90s on The Soul Train awards and he had his whole crew up on stage and he came out with his little cape lol Hammer was doing it big. There will never be another MC like Hammer. But this album I dunno about all that. I gave it a three because he had 3 big singles from it.

Mayne,mayne,mayne...by the time this album dropped, Death Row was rakin' in millions with Dre,Snoop, and the Dogg Pound, dance/pop-rap had become a thing of the past, Hammer was goin' broke and perplexed cause his peeps had flipped on him and his sells were droppin' dramatically behind Too Legit,Hammer started kickin' it with Suge & Tha Row, and on top o' that, other lyricists had jokes. So Funky Headhunter was pretty much Hammer's war declaration to all the critics from inside and outside his circle. The production was, of course, tight, bein' that some of the tracks were laid by Daz & Kurupt(DPG)...as a matter of fact, some joints were remindin' me of Too Short when they weren't soundin' like Snoop should've come thru with some cameos. Vintage Hammer music, danceable hits, only with a lot more edge, darkness, and intensity. The only problem that I had with this release,however, was the fact that my boi tried to take his image from Church hop to Crip hop...how you gonna go from 'Do Not Pass Me By' to claimin' to be an Oaktown Mack and the Ultimate O.G., bustin' on Q-Tip, Redman, Blacksheep(weak disses I might add), and thus crucifyin' your credibility? Lookin' back, Hammer was keepin' it reallest when he was dance-rappin', sellin'/makin' millions, and turnin' a deaf ear to the 'gangsta' critics who later popped out themselves. But musically, Funky Headhunters a keeper.
