Madonna - You Can Dance

You can dance and you probably will if you put on this 1987 compilation of the material girl's best jams. The eight-and-a-half minute "Into the Groove," remixed by Shep Pettibone, may be Madonna's single best tune and it's sure to fill the dance floor. There are only 10 tracks here, and a couple of songs get multiple remixes, but you do get "Holiday" and "Everybody," lesser known but not lesser grooves. Madonna had a few dance hits after this collection came out, and one day they'll most likely be a Madonna dance box set, but until then this will give you a fine aerobic workout. --Charles R. MY DAUGHTER IS NOW THIRTY-TWO YEARS OLD AND THIS WAS HER FAVORITE OF MADONNA. THROUGH HER RELOCATING IN THE YEARS SHE LOST THIS CD. A VERY HARD CD TO FIND,ANYWHERE.

Buyers Beware!!

All I Can say is being somewhat of a newbie to Amazon, that I made the mistake of buying a cassette tape instead of a cd. So just be careful to read everything very carefully before you buy.

Aside from that, I am sure this is a great album of Madonna's. One of her classics, with La Isla Bonita and a number of other great songs. I look forward to buying the cd version so I can really get my groove on just the way Madonna intends. June 15, 2008

Dancing With The Star

I forgot this Madonna album existed, whow knew? It's great to hear old 80's dance music with that love feel, and the innocent non jaded love lyrics during happier times. It's nice to have versions of these madonna songs considering some of them cannot be found on the so called "greatest hits" cds. I'd rather hear this stuff than some of the souless crap out today. Was this a foreshadow?

Of course, I'm sure Madonna had no idea that almost 20 years later she would release another non-stop dancefloor throw down, but it's fun to think so. Like 2005's "Confessions On A Dance Floor" album, this CD is a continous mix of Madonna early hits in their extended dance mix form. They're all great and full of fun. It's a great blast from the past. October 10, 2007
