About George Strait - Pure Country [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]
With the help of producer Tony Brown, George Strait redefined his relationship to the contemporary country mainstream with this 1992 soundtrack album, which became the bestselling single release of his career. In the movie, Strait portrays a country star who walks away from the smoke and mirrors to get back to his down-home roots. The ballad "When Did You Stop Loving Me" is as pure country as it gets in this day and age, while "The King of Broken Hearts" and "Where the Sidewalk Ends" introduced Strait's audience to an exceptionally gifted songwriter named Jim Lauderdale. --Rick Mitchell Amazon.com essential recording

Oh, by the way, George Strait and Alan Jackson's duet "Murder on Music Row" should have included Tony Brown's name. Not only did he dilute George's sound, but also Reba McEntire's, among others! June 26, 2008

I would advise them to get into some of his earlier music. If you can't get his other albums, buy Strait out of the Box.
