User Reviews
Average user review:The acoustic music alone is worth the price of the CD.
Combine that with an excellent instrumental take on Albert King's "Born Under a Bad Sign", and classics like "Red House", and you have a Hendrix album unlike any other ever put together.
Even if you don't care for Jimi's rock stuff, this is a truly great Blues record. May 17, 2008
Moe's thoughts
This is by far the best Jimi Hendrix CD ever produced!!! His blues guitar playing is the at the top of the list with B.B. King and S.R.V. April 29, 2008
Excellent
I've been looking for a more intimate showing of Jimi Hendrix's talent. This is just what I was looking for. He was an excellent blues guitarist.
The recording is just a bit echoing. But overall, I love it. April 24, 2008
LAID-BACK JIMI
As you would guess by the title, this collection from Jimi Hendrix is a
little more down-home than his others. Relax, and you will be pleased
with these recordings which show Jimi's skills when playing the blues.
There are also new renditions of a couple favorites with a more blue
flavor, and an impressive jam session with complex ryhthms and smoking
guitar licks that will have you saying thank-you Jimi. If you enjoy the
blues played by other rock musicians, then you will like this one too.
I am glad I have it to add to my Hendrix collection.

A Nice Addition
There's really some great music, on this album. If you love the electric blues, you really need to get this, as it's full to bursting, at a whopping 72 minutes, with soulful, wailing, mind-blowing blues. Alternate versions and outtakes dominate the disc, so if you've got Jimi's standard studio stuff, this is still worth owning. Less production and more feeling is what you'll find here. Great stuff, and I find that I listen to this more than both Are You Experienced? and Axis: Bold as Love, and almost as much as the magnificent Electric Ladyland. February 2, 2008
