I bought this back in the day based on the strength of its three singles, "Joy to the World", "Liar", and "One Man Band". Certainly three of the best singles Three Dog Night ever released to the competition of the charts. Back in 1972 I enjoyed the album, but in retrospect I find that this is one of those gems that only grows over the decades.

You know how it is. Some albums you liked back then you find don't wear well, and when people mention them you reluctantly admit that you actually liked them. "Naturally", on the other hand, has grown in my appreciation.

In short, "Naturally" would be tied for Three Dog Night's best album. There's not a single dud on the thing. Check out "I've Got Enough Heartache". Wow, everything I ever liked about the Grateful Dead's "American Beauty" without any of the LSD-saturated overhead. Or the album opener, "I Can Hear You Calling"; a dozen years later labels would recognize that you milk an album for as many singles as you can, but this was 1971. For that matter, album cuts like "Heavy Church", "Sunlight" (a superlative cover of the Youngbloods song), or the instrumental "Fire Eater"...this album just flows. It wouldn't do to settle for cherry-picking mp3 downloads. Sure it includes the #1 song of 1971; the rest of "Naturally" lives up to that promise. August 15, 2008

I have been looking for this album for years and finally found it on Amazon.com.
The service has been excellent, the quality of the cd excellent. My neighbours - very unhappy.
I grew up with this album and have loved the music. July 27, 2008

Just because you don't make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, does not mean you are not a timeless classic flower power, love your brother, rock n' roll band. You get the still fresh "Joy to the "World", the underrated "I'll be creeping", and the rich "Heavy Church", along with the classic "Liar". Worth the price, especially if you don't have any bands that harmonize well and often. The musicians are highly underrated. Hope they restock the double album CD, get that if they do. While they were in their heyday, each new release of Three Dog Night's was better than the last one. Not many bands can claim that. And NONE of today's artists can come close to the output of Three Dog Night in the early and mid 70's. But this album in my opinion is their high water mark. Other good albums would follow namely "Harmony" and "Seven Separate Fools", but it was "Naturally" that captured the group at their apex. Everyone has already discussed the songs on the album so there's no need for me to go into them. It's just a shame that during the remixing stages that no bonus tracks were put into the mix. Possibly they didn't have any extra tunes or other versions of tunes included on the album. I haven't come across any imports or bootlegs that have unissued songs. Pity, but if I were going to be stranded on a desert island and could only take say 25 of my favorite albums, this one (and "Captured Live At The Forum") would make the trip with me! Enjoy!! I was a huge fan and had every LP this talented group recorded. I never could find this one on CD, until I started buying from here. I wore this LP out as a teen, had to replace it 4 times. It was the only LP I ever owned that got played from beginning to end. Although I am a Chuck Negron fan and even like the song , "Joy To The World" is the worse track on this CD. "I've Got Enough Heartache" is by far the best track Three Dog Night recorded with all 3 singers, with "Heavy Church" following a close 2nd . On this CD "Sunlight" is the best Solo. Too bad they were in the shadows of the hits off this CD, had they been on another LP they would of made their marks on the charts.
