I must be getting old because I'm listening to this...and liking it! LOL I picked it up for the "Theme from 'The Molly Maguires'", a beautiful tune from a none-too-beautiful movie about militant coalminers. However, in addition to themes from The Pink Panther, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Days of Wine and Roses, and Charade; there are fine tunes from The Thorn Birds, Victor/Victoria and other Mancini favorites like "Moon River", "Speedy Gonzales", and "Baby Elephant Walk". Most all are played in the "easy listening" style for which Mancini is known; Galway on flute never extends himself beyond those bounds.

This is fine "feel-good" music to fill your listening space, but it's somewhat short measure for a CD at only about 42 minutes...or you can simply press "repeat" as I often do. November 7, 2007

When I was a kid, my parents would play their In the Pink tape on trips to Colorado. The wistful beauty of "Meggie's Theme" would blend perfectly with the spectacular mountain/desert scenery, but it was "Baby Elephant Walk" that I loved the most. I'd imagine cheerful blue elephants tromping along and dancing to the music.
In college, I decided to order the CD from CDNow. To my immense disappointment, I received notification that the CD was unavailable and that my order had been canceled. The next day, I had a package from CDNow in the mail--my CD had arrived after all! My delight was boundless.
A few years later, my husband and I played the CD for a friend. The friend bought In the Pink and told us it's a favorite with his kids!
This isn't your typical "Famous Artist Plays the Songs of a Gifted Composer" CD. In the Pink is worth owning, worth listening to dozens of times, worth sharing with friends and family. It would make a great gift! Snatch it up if you can! September 4, 2007

For those who are fans of Galway or Mancini, (or even those who are not) this is a fun, upbeat CD that will bring back a lot of movie memories. This combination of the talents of this pair make for a great listening experience. I have had this work in my music library for a long time, and am grateful that it is still available since my ex and I both wanted custody of it! March 8, 1999

Galaway has awesome talent! This album isn't just for the classical type. It has a lot of fun, up-beat familiar tunes that everyone will enjoy. It's definetly one of Galaway's best. If you don't have it, go buy it now! January 2, 1999
