If your like me and own the CD version of Bleach, why not own it on Vinyl to. If you happen to own a turnable record player and are a fan of Nirvana, then I recommend buying this LP, no questions asked.
May 19, 2008If you like Nevermind you should like this also, I personally think Bleach rocks much harder. If Dave Grohl would have been the drummer back then it would have been even more awesome. All and all it's a great CD.

if you like nirvana and you feel compelled to getas many songs as you can get of a musician that you really like then get it. In my opinion you have to be a pretty big fan of Nirvana to fully appreciate this album. I give it a 4 because, as a Nirvana fan, I love their sound and love the vibe I get from their music. I did not give it a 5 because the occasional listener will not and cannot appreciate it as much as a Nirvana fan.

"Bleach" was recorded in 1989, and during that time period, very little was known about the seattle music scene, expect those that lived there, or word of mouth was spread through the underground. Mind you, even though in 1989 there was an alternitive rock scene and a punk scene (even though many artist of this genere still were not introduced into the pop-rock scene), Nivana took sounds of both, and there are even hints of heavy metal , and created a sound that would not take off into the mainstream until three years later. So, does this mean that this is an good album, just because it was ahead of its time. Yes, it is a very good album, and even though David isn't drumming here, the musicanship is still tight, with plenty of rawness that will satifsy the most hard-core rock junkies. Yes I say rock, I will never use to term grunge to coin music. It was just a silly pop culture term to describe the clothing the artist wore. Anyway, Bleach still seems like a lost treasure. Even though the acousic version of "About a Girl" got lots of airplay, it was the version off of unplugged, not this. In fact, its a shame that most of these songs dont get airplay, and never did even during the peak of the bands popularity. "Bleech" might not be "In Untero" (the bands best album) when it comes to finally getting it all together, but it was a start, and with 13tracks on this album, nine of them are great, that one helluva effort for a debut album. Please try this one on, even if you arent a fan of Nivana, because if you are someone that likes Indie, Extreme Metal, or any form of music that isnt pop, give this a chance. YOu might hate Nirvana because of their extreme popularity since "Nevermind" was released, but this one is much different, and some will love the garage type sound that this one gets. ENJOY
