Great CD. I used to listen to this album on cassette growing up. A great collection of Christmas music

I first bought this album back in the 70's and my five daughters grew up listening to Roger Whittaker. They are all grown now and still love to listen to his singing. I had lost our album years ago in moving, but when I found the CD, I bought one for myself and cannot stop listening to it!! In fact, I just bought this CD for my daughter and her family to enjoy. Each song is so beautiful and makes the holiday extra special!!

I was delighted to find that this old Christmas album had been digitally remastered and put onto CD, as the original album was a firm Christmas favourite of mine (and my family) for many years. Every Christmas, out came Roger Whittaker, and we were instantly transported by his warm, mellow voice. Happily, this CD still holds its same magic (even though we had not heard it for many years).The lyrics and music unashamedly celebrate Christmas and its true meaning, and I have played this CD often since I recently purchased it, and I have not grown tired of it.There are some interesting songs on this CD, and I love the "Governor's Dream", and for children, "Darcy the Dragon" is sure to delight: the tale of a dragon on his way to do his Christmas shopping! If you are looking for a Christmas CD with a difference, this is it!
December 13, 2008This was my introduction to Roger Whittaker in 1978, when it was ~ Gasp ~ on vinal & I was in high school. There could be none better! IMO every track should be among the classics played publicly every year! In fact few of these are average 'best of' christmas songs covered over & over. Many are originals. It's nearly impossibe to pick a favorite. As soon as I do, the next track starts & I am reminded why itis a favorite too!That said; HALLELUJAH IT'S CHRISTMAS & MOMMA MARY always lead me into the holiday spirit. TINY ANGELS took on new meaning when my nephew & neice were born, & are now young adults! The whislted BRAHM'S LULLABYE is incredible, who knew anyone could whistle as richly as that? Goosebumps every time! I've upgraded to each audio version, & will as long as this album is available!
Check out his non holiday stuff too, you won't be dissapointed!

I bought this as a cassette many years ago. The CD I bought for my daughter because she was wearing the cassette out. And now her children are enjoying his music as well.
