I sat in my easy chair one Sunday morning sipping hot chocolate and indulging in my favorite relaxation behavior while listening to one of those numerous New Age shows that NPR broadcasts when to my intense surprise this bright splash of music erupted through my stereo speakers and swept me away to a different world. No--it wasn't Explorers; it was SPLENDOUR of the SUN, the cut just before Explorers. This vital, energetic, thoroughly refreshing piece of music makes the album, in my humble opinion. I make no apologies when I say that I fell in love with Arkenstone's music fairly early on, and haven't regretted a single album I ever purchased with his music on it. Get this guy's work; you will never tire of listening to it. October 26, 2003

This is a mostly just a nice relaxing collection. The final track, Explorers, does stand out though as an upbeat piece. I frequently drop in the CD just to hear that one track. February 20, 2001

Citizen Of Time is early David Arkenstone, but his potential was evident on this album, released in 1990. Not only is this a musical world tour, but as the title indicates, a trip back through time as well. Ambitious, to be sure, and the music doesn't always measure up, but there are many nice moments. "Explorers" continues to be one of my all-time favorite Arkenstone pieces. A nice early effort. December 10, 1998
