| | Where are the extra tracks listed in the title on Amazon? | |
Better sound than the first CD issued, but I feel gyped as the title says extra tracks but there are no extra tracks as the original had 9 and so does this version.
Even the music samples indicates for those who remember the original number of tracks that were present, that in fact, no additional tracks are included whatsoever, whatever happened to truth in advertising?
October 22, 2007I like this album a lot. It stands as one of the best 80's synth-pop records, but goes beyond the rest of the pack with deep orchestration and a cerebral sound. Just three instruments here; bass, drums, and synths, no guitar like A Flock Of Seagulls or Duran Duran. Mark Hollis' voice is like another instrument unto itself; dark, brooding, and almost sedately muffled into the background. "Talk Talk" is pure New Romantic synth-pop. Songs like "Today" and "Hate" fill up the stereo with heavy purcussion. "The Party's Over" is a multi-layered orchestral track and "(It's so) Serious" is a standout synth-pop ballad. If you haven't heard this record before give it a shot. You'll be surprised at it's depth and complexity of sound.
September 4, 2007 | | In the book "Awakening to Zero Point" we have been alerted to listen for certain tones
This cd has a way of stimulating the subconscious. Secondly the subconscious recognizes those tones which have some connection to the annonauki (or angels). The only other cd which has the same effect is a new age song called Tingri. On a subconscious level we are sensing incoming armadas of , of what we may consider to be, extraterristial spacecraft, virtual armadas of spacecraft. The tones which will awaken your perception to these events began with the synthesizer. Initially with the horns (cherubin) of the song Sledgehammer. I hope this will clarify the strange attraction many sense, but cannot define.
August 11, 2006 | | Does 'Talk Talk' include the 'synth-drum clicks' at the beginning?
I bought the album back in 1982 and love it. I've since replaced my vinyl with cds and now mp3's.
The question I have is:
Does the version of the song "Talk Talk" include the 'synth-drum clicks' in the first 5 seconds of the song?
I purchased the version from itunes and it does not include it. That mp3 is from the album "Natural History - The Very Best of Talk Talk" So while I'm pleased to get a great sounding mp3 of the song, I want the first 5 seconds with the 'synth-drum clicks'
Thanks to anyone who can answer the question.
January 1, 2006I've been listening to this album since 1983 (ouch). When I first heard it in high school I loved all the uptempo numbers but now w/the advantage of a few years under my belt I see this album in a completely different light. Songs like Candy and The Party's Over lay the groundwork for what this band set out to accomplish on their later recordings. With the exception of the somewhat spotty Laughing Stock, Talk Talk are one of the most consistent and satisfying bands I know of... This CD is a great starting point.
