About Stevie Nicks - Enchanted: The Works of Stevie Nicks

The California girl who wanted to be a Welsh witch has always been best when her mysticism and mooniness has been offset by harder-headed collaborators. Though this box set doesn't include the Fleetwood Mac stuff that made her name, it does pull together curious stuff she's done elsewhere: pre-Mac work with Lindsey Buckingham from the Buckingham Nicks days, duets with the likes of Tom Petty and Don Henley, and a few soundtrack numbers. The first two discs have everything worth saving from her five solo albums (actually, one disc would have done that too, though "Edge of Seventeen" appears in a live version rather than the hit), plus some B-sides, and the third has rarities and obscurities, including an enlightening demo of "Rhiannon." --Douglas Wolk Amazon.com

Not only does this set contain Stevie Nick's greatest music, the booklet enclosed explains the reason and inspiration behind each song. She is truly one of the greatest songwriters of our time. The piano version of "Rhiannon" is (in my opinion) the best she has done. This is so worth the extra few bucks. April 30, 2008

I bought this in January 08' and I love it. There are three very well documented cds of Ms.Nicks' career. This week, I have especially enjoyed cd 3 and the cover of Free Fallin'. I think that I like Stevie's version better than Tom Pettys. So many hits on all 3 cds! I wish that I had seen the Enchanted tour now that I own the box set. Great listening!! February 24, 2008

I've discovered new favorites after listening to the 3rd cd in this collection. As another reviewer pointed out, several of these tunes won't be found elsewhere unless you want to spend your money on a soundtrack. If you're stuck on her great classics, get out of your comfort zone and listen to #3. I promise you won't be disappointed. Thousand Days is fantastic, as is Battle of the Dragon. And I love the Buckingham Nicks cut Long Distance Winner (when will they ever release that on cd??) November 26, 2007
