I just can't stop playing " Midnight Dreaming". What a wonderful collection of muscial memories that will have you longing for the days of old. The beautifully written "Unexpected Song" by Andrew Llyod Webber is the best version ever recorded. He really nails the last note. Anthony's phrasing and impeccable vocal approach ,adds new depth and life to these timeless classics. If you want to be taken down memory lane then you must own these collection of songs. This, to me, is Anthony Warlow's best album. It has a musical concept and it follows through perfectly. On this album, each song takes on the mood of a late night walk, with the cool night air softly blowing. The original arrangements have been changed in order to facciliate this concept, and breathes new life into the pieces so that whether you are new to them or already familiar, you will find something to cherish in each track. There is no standout track, as they are all marvellous in arrangement, mood and execution.
I first saw Anthony Warlow in 1990 as the title role in the Phantom of the Opera and his voice is the best Australia has ever known; possibly the best it will ever know. If you have never heard his voice, this is as a good a place as any to become acquainted. For all of us out there that can appreciate true, rare, astounding talent, this is the man, the album, for you. October 5, 2003

If I could pick one singer that I could sound like, it would probably be Anthony Warlow. He can sing anything from Classical to jazz without having to change his basic sound, unlike many classically trained singers who make pop recordings. He has it all - an incredible range, delicate phrasing, exemplary control of his voice... and modesty. If anyone has a voice to show off, Warlow does, and yet he does not seem to seek to impress, but rather allows the music to sing itself through him. I especially enjoy his tender rendition of "I'll Be Seeing You", which includes the verse. And he really nails that high note at the end of "Unexpected Song". This CD is a very romantic listen, well worth getting! February 23, 2003

After hearing Warlow's two Broadway orientated albums Center Stage and On Boards. I decided that I wanted to hear more of this Oz Man. Midnight Dreaming was a excellent choice. It shows that he is a great "Saloon" singer in the style of Frank Sinatra and Mel Torme. He choice of songs and the arrangements were well thought out and take advantage of his range. He interprets the words rather than just sing them with empty meaning. As much as I enjoy the Broadway albums that show off his dynamic I enjoyed this album more for its quiet intensity. It's smoothness. It's totally overall enjoyment. Irecommend this for any Warlow fan and anyone who enjoys great singing in the tradition of old crooners. March 12, 2002
