This soundtrack is very different from your run-of-the-mill collection of songs, or instrumental selections. Beautiful melodies, crossing the boundaries from Sephardic Judaism to upper-crust 19th century English drawing rooms, is punctuated by the unforgettable voice of the late and lamented Yemenite superstar, Ofra Haza. Why haven't you bought this?

As a lover of Middle Eastern and foriegn music, I have to say this is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. You can dance to the charming gypsy like music, or rest from motion during the lilting vocals. This is a wonderful investment for anyone who is into world music or music that differs from the norm. And the movie was pretty good, too. May 22, 2000
