Great breakout album. If the whole album were as good as the highlights, this would be a solid 5 stars. Still a very worthy purchase even if only for the highlights.
April 29, 2008...and bow. Possibly the greatest deput album ever; save Static-X' Wisconsin Death Trip and perhaps Gravity Kills self-titled deput. I would recommend this album to anyone who enjoys bands such as Marilyn Manson, Korn, Rob/White Zombie, or even Jewel! -just kidding i was poking fun at an angry reviewer who bought this cd expecting it to sound like Van Halen. As he put it, if you're into (and only into) bands like Metallica or Van Halen and you buy an Orgy cd expecting something similar you'd be gravely mistaken; even though I love Metallica I realize that there are certain people who are and aren't limited to enjoying certain types of rock, weather it be classic rock or industrial rock.
April 1, 2008 | | I don't think so! Old school still wins!
Simply said: If your any type of an old school rocker (Metallica, Van Halen, Dokken, ect, ect,) don't buy this album. My opinion says this music is boring and not very talented. It doesn't move me. Sorry for the negative, it is just an opinion.
November 30, 2007 | | Dirty, gritty rock that foams at the mouth
Orgy is a band that definitely has their own special style and sound -- if you take the vocals of His Infernal Majesty (HIM) and KoRn, and mix them with music slightly harder than Nine Inch Nails, you'd get something that sounds quite similar to Orgy. It's industrial rock magic that makes me feel like I'm in a crackhouse with a meth-addicted prostitute. Especially when I hear vocalist Jay Gordon sing, "You're just another pretty face in a room full of whores. No, you don't mean much." (Track 12 - "Dizzy")
I've always wondered why Orgy has never gotten more credit from listeners -- this is an album I have treasured since middle school, and I am now a college student with a very eclectic taste in music. Of the 12 songs on this album, I'd say at least 8 of them are songs you'll never get tired of because the deepest, darkest part of you will relate to them on some level. Just give them a chance.

Orgy is one of those bands I keep coming back to every once in a while. Candyass is without dispute the best Orgy album. The CD ranges from melancholy to happy, from depressed to elated, and back again. The tunes on Candyass are some of the heaviest and bleakest you will find anywhere. Candyass has a firm spot in my top 50 CD's.
