| | I don't know if its the best, but its very good! | |
This is my first Jeff Healey CD, so I can't say if its really "the best" of JH, but it's all good. I think covers of Badge, Yer Blues, and especailly While my Guitar Gently Weeps are excellent. The other covers and original works are very good. I play a little guitar and can appreciate his style. I guess I'll have to buy some other albums to see if other reviewers are right about others being better. But don't hesitate to buy this one.

I recommend this best of The Jeff Healey band over any of the other best of collections available. I have heard a few of his previous releases ie Hell To Pay etc and never got to getting any of them but why talk! Get this one, Their killer version Of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with George Harrison as a guest artist is worth it alone.Check my site out "Judemac Forever" & search msn, Google or Yahoo.
February 20, 2008Jeff Healey can be brilliant and has produced some magic tracks. Unfortunately there are not many on this CD. His best album in my opinion is 'See the Light' of which only 'Confidence Man' and 'See the Light' appear here. Any best of should include 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Blue Jean Blues', 'Highway 49', 'As the Years Go Passing By', 'Holding on', 'I Think I Love You Too Much' for starters. There is a definite gap in recording/production quality of some of the tracks on this album which creates a negative feeling. Jeff can tend towards the flashy which definitely spoilt the concert I saw of him some years back, but when he plays with reserve and true blues feeling, he is worth every dollar. On this album the gap between styles is also too great. 'It could all get blown away' highlights the best, 'Shapes of things' the worst.
June 1, 2004Its worth the buy, but why wasnt "Angel Eyes" on this best of collection? That was his only song he was known for the sad main stream fans that wouldnt know a good song if it bit them on the butt. What I am trying to say is they should have lots of famous Healey tracks all over the radio. They are not playing any of his stuff down in my neck of the woods~Thank God for Cds. He is a very great talent to music.~caw~
September 23, 2003Jeff HEaley tries to sound as blues / rock genius and he is really a rare gifted guitar player and singer. But the tunes in this selection makes no justice at all at his talents. The result sounds more like a minor-league version of Irish master Rory Gallagher.
