About Various Artists - Tribal Waters: Music from Native Americans
Another in Earthbeat!'s Tribal Collection series, Tribal Waters is a marriage of contemporary and traditional sound. It's a celebratory synthesis, bringing together nature sounds, bells, spoken word, chant, drumming, horns, flute, and keyboards. Presented by artists of multiple tribes (largely from the western United States), each song is a meditation and prayer, a call for mindfulness. Tribal Waters as a whole is like a river running through all terrain, weather, depth, and velocity. It can be enjoyed as a centering touchstone as the listener allows the sound to unwind and heal while he or she is bathed in beauty. This collection is a reminder of our connection to one another as well as to the earth, and of the great reverence we must hold for that which sustains us. --Paige La Grone Amazon.com

I just love listening to this Native American CD with various Natives singing in their native languages! Its sounds so spiritual and inspirational just listening to my Native American people sing!! I recommend this CD for my fellow Native brothers and sisters or for anyone who loves listening to Native music.
May 19, 2008A great collection of pieces for those interested in Native American music and its influences. I play it at work constantly.
September 4, 2007I buy CDs like these (Native American flute and drum) for the music. I find it very soothing when I want to relax or as background music at small get-togethers. On this CD somewhere towards the end of the first track or maybe the middle of the second track, a man begins giving a speech or maybe a sermon about clean water and how soon we won't have any, yadda, yadda, yadda. It's not that I'm insensitive to the serious current threats to our environment. But I thought I was buying soft music to relax to.
January 3, 2007Based on other reviews, and my love of many Native American recordings, I thought I would love this CD. I was wrong. Just not my style. Next time I'm definitely going to have to listen to the tracks before I buy. A few of the songs are nice, but most just not what I like.
May 18, 2006If you seek the elusive tranquility in a hectic life, this selection will bring it to you with its balance of natural and musical sounds, complimented by sage and poetic thoughts.
